Four goalkeepers have earned nominations for the February Goalkeeper of the Month award in the Ghana Premier League after delivering impressive performances between the posts.
The shortlist includes Zakari Musah, Prince Osei, Benjamin Asare, and Emmanuel Kobi. The nominations were put together by the Ex-Goalkeepers Union of Ghana.
Musah secured his place on the list after a solid run with FC Samartex 1996, where he kept two clean sheets and conceded just once in three matches. Samartex recorded two draws and a defeat during the period.
Aduana FC shot-stopper Prince Osei also impressed in February, making three appearances for Aduana FC. He kept two clean sheets while allowing only one goal as his side settled for three draws.
Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak SC goalkeeper Benjamin Asare featured in two games and managed to keep clean sheets in both matches. His performances helped the Phobians record a win and a draw.
Another strong contender is Emmanuel Kobi of Bibiani Gold Stars FC, who played three matches and kept two clean sheets. Gold Stars won all three games during the month, conceding just one goal in the process.
The goalkeeper who emerges as the winner will receive a special prize package from the Ex-Goalkeepers Union, including a branded towel, water bottles and a T-shirt.
