Kamaldeen Sulemana in Action as Bayern Munich Thrash Atalanta 6–1

Kamaldeen Sulemana featured for Atalanta BC on a difficult night as the Italian side suffered a heavy 6–1 defeat to FC Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.

The Ghanaian winger started the game on the right flank and remained on the pitch for 74 minutes, but Atalanta struggled to cope with Bayern’s attacking power throughout the match played at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

The German giants quickly asserted their dominance early in the contest, breaking down Atalanta’s defence repeatedly and building a strong advantage before the half-hour mark.

Bayern continued their relentless performance after the interval, adding further goals to seal a comprehensive away victory. Atalanta managed to pull one back late in stoppage time, but the goal did little to change the outcome of the match.

Sulemana found it difficult to make a significant impact during the game and was eventually replaced in the closing stages. The 23-year-old Ghana international has recorded three goals and one assist across competitions this season while mostly playing a supporting role in the squad.

The defeat leaves Atalanta with a massive challenge ahead of the return leg in Munich on March 18, where they will need an extraordinary comeback to keep their Champions League campaign alive.
