Francis Abu remains confident of making Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite recovering from a serious leg injury.
The 24-year-old suffered a double fracture during Ghana’s defeat to Japan national football team in the Kirin Cup in November 2025, raising fears he could miss the global tournament.
However, Abu says his recovery is progressing steadily and believes he is on track for a return.
“I am in good spirits. I am on a good path to recovery,” he told 3Sports.
The midfielder revealed he has already resumed light work with the ball and is gradually building towards full team training.
“For sure, especially with where I am now in my recovery. I am now working with the ball… and progressing towards team training,” he added.
With the World Cup approaching, Abu is determined to complete his comeback and fight for a place in Otto Addo’s squad.
