Clinton Dombila delivered a late assist for FC Ararat in their 3-2 away victory over FC Urartu, but the result was not enough to prevent elimination from the Armenian Cup.
Despite the impressive win on the night, Ararat crashed out at the quarter-final stage following a heavy 3-0 defeat in the first leg at home.
Dombila made his impact late in the game, setting up Moussa Kante in the 89th minute to bring the score to 2-2 after a determined comeback from the visitors.
Earlier, Guy Lima had given Ararat the lead, but Urartu responded through Alexandre Llovet and Nicholas Kaloukian to take control of the match.
Kante’s equaliser briefly revived Ararat’s hopes before Soulaymane Toure netted the decisive third goal to seal the win on the night for the visitors.
Although the victory was not enough to overturn the aggregate scoreline, Dombila’s contribution stands as a positive sign as he continues his return from injury.
The midfielder will now be aiming to build on this performance and push for a starting role when Ararat face FC Van in their next league fixture.
