Ghana defender Kojo Peprah Oppong has provided an update on his injury following the Ghana national team’s pre-World Cup friendly against the Germany national team on March 30, 2026, in Stuttgart.
The 21-year-old centre-back, who plays for OGC Nice, was forced off in the 56th minute after picking up an injury during the match, which Ghana lost 2-1.
Oppong had been enjoying a solid performance before the setback, and his injury raised concerns given his growing importance in Ghana’s defensive setup ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former IFK Norrköping defender later reassured fans with a positive update on social media, expressing gratitude for the support he received.
“Thank you all for the messages, I’m much better now. Always an honor to represent the country 100%,” he wrote.
A product of the Attram De Visser Soccer Academy, Oppong has quickly established himself as a promising figure in the national team since making his debut in October 2025 against Comoros national football team.
He has earned four caps so far and, with his recent performances, is making a strong case for inclusion in Ghana’s final squad for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
