Roger De Sá says the Black Stars technical team is determined to restore pride and deliver strong performances for Ghanaians at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The South African coach was recently appointed as assistant coach under new Black Stars boss Carlos Queiroz following changes to the national team’s technical setup earlier this year.
The restructuring came after the departure of former coach Otto Addo in March following defeats against Austria and Germany.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia for the tournament, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, De Sá stressed that the technical team is united in its mission to make the nation proud on football’s biggest stage.
“We are here to do our best and make Ghanaians happy. If Carlos does his job, there is none better than him,” he said.
The assistant coach also expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to compete if the players perform at their highest level.
“We will take our targets one step at a time. If our players perform to their abilities, we have a realistic chance of progressing,” he added.
The Black Stars will continue preparations for the tournament with international friendlies against Mexico on May 22 and Wales on June 2.
Ghana are scheduled to begin their World Cup campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England in Boston on June 23. Their final group-stage match will come against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
