Asante Kotoko SC will host Swedru All Blacks at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in one of the most tension-filled fixtures of the final day of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
While Kotoko are chasing a place in the league’s top four, Swedru All Blacks arrive in Kumasi fighting for survival in a battle that could define their entire campaign.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the encounter looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Bechem United and finish the season strongly in front of their supporters. A victory could still push Kotoko into the top four depending on results elsewhere.
For All Blacks, however, the stakes could not be higher. The Swedru-based side must avoid defeat — and realistically need all three points — to keep alive their hopes of remaining in the Ghana Premier League next season.
The visitors currently find themselves among several clubs battling relegation heading into the final round, with every point likely to prove decisive.
All Blacks will also be desperate to improve their poor away record after conceding in each of their last eight league matches on the road. Despite their struggles, they will draw confidence from the reverse fixture earlier this season, where they stunned Kotoko with a 2-1 victory.
The build-up to Sunday’s clash has also been surrounded by controversy following alleged bribery claims involving Kotoko defender Patrick Asiedu.
The player reportedly alleged that an unidentified Swedru All Blacks supporter attempted to offer him a bribe in a bid to influence the outcome of the match and help the visitors secure survival.
The allegation has added further tension and attention to an already high-pressure fixture expected to attract significant interest across the country.
