Bibiani Gold Stars FC will aim to finish their impressive Ghana Premier League campaign on a winning note when they welcome Eleven Wonders FC to Dun’s Park on the final day of the season.
The Miners head into the encounter disappointed after seeing their title ambitions disappear following defeat to Dreams FC last weekend, a result that confirmed Medeama SC as league champions.
Despite missing out on the title, Gold Stars can still reflect on a strong campaign in which they remained among the top contenders for most of the season.
The Bibiani-based side will now be determined to reward their supporters with a strong final performance at home.
Their opponents, however, arrive in difficult circumstances after enduring a disastrous end to the season.
Eleven Wonders have already been relegated and travel to Bibiani on the back of six consecutive defeats, while failing to win any of their last 15 league matches.
Defensive problems have severely affected the visitors throughout the campaign, with the club conceding more goals than any other team in the division this season.
Gold Stars, in contrast, have been one of the league’s most consistent sides, combining defensive organisation with attacking efficiency to remain firmly in the top half of the standings.
The hosts also carry confidence from recent meetings between the two clubs, including a narrow victory in the reverse fixture earlier this year.
With home advantage, superior form and motivation to end the season positively, Gold Stars will be viewed as favourites heading into Sunday’s contest.
