Asante Kotoko apologise to supporters after disappointing eighth-place finish

Asante Kotoko SC have issued an official statement expressing disappointment over the club’s performance in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season after finishing eighth on the league table.

In a statement released by the club’s board and management following the conclusion of the campaign, Kotoko admitted the season fell below the standards and expectations associated with the club’s rich history.

The Porcupine Warriors described the campaign as one to forget and assured supporters that decisive measures would be taken to restore the club to a more competitive level ahead of next season.

“This outcome falls far below the standards, expectations, and ambitions of our great club,” part of the statement read.

Kotoko also extended an apology to supporters across the country for the disappointment caused during the season, while thanking fans for their loyalty and commitment throughout the campaign.

The club acknowledged the sacrifices made by supporters who continued to back the team home and away despite inconsistent performances during the season.

Management further assured fans that efforts are already underway to rebuild a stronger and more competitive side capable of challenging for major honours again.

The statement comes after a frustrating campaign in which Kotoko failed to mount a serious title challenge and eventually finished outside the top four positions.

Despite the disappointment, the club remains optimistic about bouncing back stronger next season as preparations for major changes at the club are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
