Hearts of Oak board member Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called for major changes at the club, saying the Phobians need a new coach capable of restoring their competitive edge after another underwhelming season.
The veteran football administrator believes the club has already begun laying the foundation for a fresh era, with preparations underway to appoint a new head coach following the departure of the previous technical team.
Speaking on the club’s future, Nyaho-Tamakloe stressed that Hearts need more than just a new face in the dugout. According to him, the next manager must instill a stronger attacking mentality and transform the team’s approach in front of goal.
“The Board of Directors has decided to let the former coach go, and they are making preparations for a new coach to come. We want a coach who will teach the boys how to be hungry for goals,” he said.
He also expressed frustration with Hearts’ performances throughout the campaign, insisting the results fell well below the expectations associated with the club’s rich history.
“Most of our so-called wins were very minimal. Apart from that, we either drew or lost. How we did not get to the level we wanted is surprising to some of us,” he added.
Nyaho-Tamakloe, who has served Hearts of Oak in various leadership roles for decades, believes the club must make bold decisions if it is to reclaim its place among Ghana’s elite.
The Phobians are expected to be active during the off-season as they reshape both their technical team and playing squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign, with supporters hoping the changes will spark a return to title contention.
