Ghana international Alidu Seidu is currently training individually at Rennes as he pushes for a move away from the Ligue 1 club, with his proposed transfer to Marseille yet to progress.
Marseille have already submitted an offer for the versatile defender, but Rennes are holding out for a higher fee, resulting in a stalemate between the two French clubs. Seidu is among the players Rennes have placed on the transfer list as the club looks to resolve their futures before the transfer window closes.
According to reports, Rennes have separated Seidu, Djaoui Cissé and Breel Embolo from the first-team group, with the Ghanaian now training individually while awaiting a resolution to his situation.
Seidu remains under contract with Rennes until June 2029, having renewed his deal in 2025. He joined the club from Clermont Foot in 2024 for a reported €11 million and made 24 appearances across all competitions last season.
Marseille are understood to value the 26-year-old at around €10 million, while Rennes are demanding a higher fee. The French giants are attracted by Seidu’s versatility, with the Ghanaian capable of operating at both centre-back and right-back.
With negotiations currently at an impasse, Seidu’s future remains uncertain. However, with the transfer window approaching its closing stages, the coming days could prove decisive in determining whether he remains in Rennes, joins Marseille or finds another club.
