Ampem Darkoa Ladies arrive in Egypt for decisive Edo Queens replay

Ghana Women’s Premier League champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies have arrived in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of their rescheduled encounter against Nigeria’s Edo Queens in the WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

The two sides are set to play the remaining 30 minutes of extra time after the outcome of their penalty shootout was nullified following decisions by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In a letter addressed to both clubs, CAF referenced the WAFU Zone B qualifying final played on September 5, 2026, alongside subsequent decisions by the CAF Organising Committee for Women’s Football on September 26 and the CAF Appeal Board on October 16.

According to CAF, the match will resume from the beginning of extra time with the score level at 2-2.

The teams will play two 15-minute periods, with a penalty shootout to determine the winner if the scores remain level after extra time.

Ampem Darkoa have travelled to Egypt for the decisive encounter, which is scheduled to take place in Cairo this week.

The stakes are high for both sides, as the winner will remain in Egypt to participate in the main CAF Women’s Champions League tournament.

For Ampem Darkoa, the encounter presents an opportunity to secure qualification and represent Ghana on the continental stage, while Edo Queens will be equally determined to claim the available place in the competition.
