Ghana’s Black Queens will continue their build-up to the 2026 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a friendly match against Ivory Coast in Casablanca on Tuesday.
The encounter, scheduled to take place behind closed doors at the Stade Père Jégo, will provide head coach Kim Lars Björkegren with another opportunity to assess his squad ahead of the continental showpiece in Morocco.
The Black Queens have been in camp as they intensify preparations for the tournament, with the technical team focusing on improving the squad’s tactical cohesion, fitness and match sharpness before their opening group fixture.
Facing Ivory Coast is expected to offer a stern test for Ghana, with both West African rivals using the fixture to fine-tune their teams before the start of WAFCON.
Björkegren is expected to use the match to evaluate different combinations and give several players valuable minutes as he finalises his plans for the tournament.
The Black Queens have been drawn in Group D alongside Cameroon, Mali and Cape Verde, and will be aiming to make a strong start as they seek to challenge for continental honours.
