Italian Serie A side Bologna have activated their option to buy Ghanaian midfielder Kwesi Sorotu Badori, securing the services of one of Ghana’s brightest young prospects on a permanent basis.
The 18-year-old joined the Italian club from Berekum Chelsea during the January transfer window on an initial loan deal that included an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Following a series of impressive performances and positive assessments from the club’s technical staff, Bologna have now exercised that option, committing to the youngster’s long-term development.
Badori’s rise has been one of the success stories of recent Ghana Premier League seasons. The talented midfielder established himself as a regular figure for Berekum Chelsea, earning praise for his composure, technical quality and maturity beyond his years.
During the 2025/26 campaign, he made 14 league appearances and scored two goals, building on his debut season in which he featured 29 times and found the net once.
Before beginning his adventure in Italy, Badori returned to Ghana to complete work permit requirements necessary for his professional registration, temporarily delaying his integration into Bologna’s system.
Despite the setback, Bologna remained confident in the teenager’s potential and continued to monitor his progress closely before deciding to make the deal permanent.
Badori is expected to continue his development within the club’s youth ranks as he adapts to the demands of European football and works towards earning an opportunity with the first team.
