Ghana international Daniel-Kofi Kyereh is looking forward to a fresh start at VfL Osnabrück after enduring a challenging period at SC Freiburg that was disrupted by serious injuries.
The 28-year-old midfielder saw his progress severely affected by an ACL injury and subsequent setbacks, limiting his opportunities and keeping him away from regular first-team football.
Kyereh admits the past few years have been difficult, but insists he never stopped believing in his ability to return to the pitch.
“The past few years have been a very difficult time for me. But I never lost faith in my ability to return to the pitch.”
His move to Osnabrück also reunites him with Timo Schultz, the coach under whom Kyereh enjoyed one of the best spells of his career at FC St. Pauli.
The midfielder’s impressive performances under Schultz at St. Pauli helped earn him a move to Freiburg and strengthened his place in the Ghana national team setup.
Kyereh believes reuniting with a coach who understands his qualities can help him regain his best form.
“I know Timo from our successful time together at FC St. Pauli and I know how he wants his team to play football.”
With a fresh challenge ahead, Kyereh will now focus on regaining his rhythm, rediscovering his best form and working his way back into contention for the Black Stars.
