Interim head coach Hamza Obeng has described his appointment at Asante Kotoko SC as a major opportunity as he prepares to lead the side into their Week 31 encounter against Dreams FC.
Obeng takes charge for the remainder of the season following the resignation of Prince Yaw Owusu, stepping up from his assistant role at a critical moment in the campaign.
Kotoko head into the fixture under pressure after a difficult run of results, managing just one win, one draw, and three defeats in their last five matches. The Porcupine Warriors will be looking to turn things around quickly as they seek to finish the season strongly.
Speaking ahead of the game, Obeng expressed determination to make the most of the opportunity and help the team rediscover form.
“It is a big opportunity for me, and I have to give everything I can to ensure we get good results,” he said.
Their opponents, Dreams FC, arrive in better shape, having recorded three wins, one draw, and one defeat in their last five outings. That form sets up a challenging test for Kotoko as Obeng begins his tenure on the road.
With momentum against them and expectations still high, Kotoko will be hoping their new man in charge can spark an immediate response.
