FK Pirmasens winger Kyran Amankwa has shared details of his emotional reaction after receiving news of his Ghana U20 invitation in an interview with Original FM.
The 18-year-old described the moment to Original FM as one of the happiest experiences of his football journey so far, admitting he could barely control his excitement after hearing the news.
Amankwa revealed that he was in Germany when his father called him with information about the invitation.
“I received the call-up through my dad while I was in Germany,” he told Original FM.
“He called me and said the coach told him I would be invited once camp resumed. I was like, ‘Okay, nice.’ But as soon as I hung up the phone, I started dancing and celebrating.”
“I felt like a little kid again. It was one of the best pieces of news I’ve ever received.”
The talented winger also disclosed to Original FM that he has always dreamed about representing Ghana and owns several Ghana jerseys in his room.
“It was a dream come true for me to receive the call-up because if you come to my room, you’ll see I have a lot of Ghana jerseys there,” he added.
Amankwa believes the invitation is an important step in his career as he continues his development with FK Pirmasens.
