Ibrahim Tanko: Medeama Still Hungry for Victory Against Hearts of Oak

Ibrahim Tanko says newly crowned champions Medeama SC remain determined to finish the Ghana Premier League season strongly despite already securing the title.

The Mauve and Yellow will travel to Accra on Sunday for their final league fixture of the 2025/26 campaign against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Tanko acknowledged the challenge posed by Hearts of Oak but insisted his side will still target maximum points even without the pressure of the title race.

“Even when we played them here, we didn’t find it easy to beat them. It was a tactical game,” he told Medi TV.

“Now we have won the league, so we are going there with no pressure. We are going to play our normal game with the hope that we will get our three points,” he added.

The league champions are expected to approach the game with confidence after sealing the title before the final round of fixtures.

Sunday’s Matchweek 34 encounter is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium.

After facing Hearts of Oak, Medeama will return to Tarkwa for their official coronation match against Basake Holy Stars on Wednesday, May 27, at the TnA Stadium.
