Ibrahim Tanko Rejects Fluke Claims After Medeama’s GPL Title Triumph

Ibrahim Tanko believes Medeama SC fully earned their Ghana Premier League triumph and insists the club’s success was the result of hard work rather than luck.

The Medeama coach praised the collective effort of the players, technical team and club management after guiding the Tarkwa-based side to the league title.

“Winning the Ghana Premier League gives a very good feeling. It doesn’t come by fluke. We worked hard for it,” Tanko said in an interview with Medi TV.

The former Ghana international also commended the unity and commitment shown across the club throughout the campaign.

“The whole team, the president, the board, the management and the technical team, together with the players, I think we have done a good job. I congratulate all of us,” he added.

Tanko made the remarks ahead of Medeama’s final league fixture against Hearts of Oak on Sunday, May 24.

The Yellow and Mauves sealed the title following an emphatic 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions last weekend to secure their second Premier League crown.

The league triumph also guarantees Medeama a place in next season’s CAF Champions League.
