Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has described his side’s victory over Bibiani Gold Stars FC as a major boost in their push for the Ghana Premier League title.
Medeama secured a 2-0 win over their closest challengers, a result that strengthens their position at the top with just four matches remaining.
According to Tanko, beating a direct title rival at this stage of the season provides both relief and momentum.
“When you beat an opponent who is behind you, it’s a relief. We are now four games to go, and we are ahead, so we are looking forward,” he said.
The coach admitted his side had hoped to score more but stressed that securing all three points was the most important outcome.
Medeama will now turn their focus to their next fixture against Berekum Chelsea FC as they aim to maintain their lead at the summit.
