Kurt Okraku Appeals for Prayers for Black Stars During GFA Donation to Widows

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku led a delegation from the Ghana Football Association to support widows in parts of Accra through a special donation exercise.

The GFA President visited St Paul’s Catholic Church in Kpehe and St Anthony Catholic Church in Achimota, where hampers were distributed to 50 widows from the two congregations.

The donated items included African wax print fabric, bags of rice, cooking oil, mackerel and tomato puree as part of efforts to support vulnerable members of the community.

The initiative forms part of the Football Association’s wider commitment to social responsibility and community engagement beyond football activities.

Speaking during the visit, Okraku appealed to the widows to continue praying for Ghana football and the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“As people who do football, we ask you, our mothers, to pray for us so all will go well with us and with the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup,” he said.

The widows expressed appreciation to the GFA delegation for the gesture and also offered prayers for the success of Ghana football and the national team ahead of the World Cup.

The delegation included Samuel Aboabre, Simon Ehomah, Michael Osekre and Malcolm Frazier, while church representatives such as Madam Mary Ampah and Mrs Jemima Attah Tengan also welcomed the officials during the visit.
