Ghana international Kwasi Sibo has revealed his ambition to continue his career at a club competing in the UEFA Champions League following the expiration of his contract with Spanish side Real Oviedo.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who became a free agent at the end of the 2025/26 season, says he still believes he has what it takes to compete at the highest level of European football and is ready to embrace a new challenge.
“I still have the strength to be in Europe, to compete. If my agent is able to find a team that will be competing in the Champions League, compete in the European Cup, I’m always at service and I’m ready to face that challenge to play in the Champions League,” Sibo told 3Sports.
The midfielder heads into the transfer market on the back of an impressive 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he earned four appearances for the Black Stars. After making his tournament debut as a substitute against Panama, Sibo started Ghana’s subsequent matches against England, Croatia and Colombia, accumulating 249 minutes on the world’s biggest stage.
Sibo has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League.
