Kyereh Targets 2026 World Cup Return After Injury Setback

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has set his sights on returning to the global stage with the Ghana national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as he continues his recovery from a long-term injury.

The SC Freiburg midfielder has been sidelined for months after suffering an ACL injury, a setback that disrupted his momentum at both club and international level. He has recently returned to action, featuring for Freiburg’s U-23 side as he works toward full match fitness.

Despite limited minutes so far, the 30-year-old remains confident about his chances of making Ghana’s squad for the tournament in North America.

“Yes, I do. That is another dream and goal I am striving for. I believe in it,” Kyereh said.

The midfielder, who was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is now focused on regaining sharpness in the coming months ahead of the tournament.
