The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the international windows for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, providing member associations with the schedule for all six rounds of qualification.
The qualifying campaign will begin in September 2026, with the first two rounds scheduled for September 23–25 and September 27–29. CAF has also stipulated that participating teams must have a minimum of two full rest days between matches, while member associations will be allowed to arrange international friendlies between October 1 and October 6 following the completion of Round Two.
The race for qualification will resume in November 2026, when teams return for Rounds Three and Four, scheduled for November 11–13 and November 15–17, respectively, as the battle for places at the continental tournament intensifies.
The final phase of the qualifiers will be played during the March 2027 FIFA international window, with Rounds Five and Six taking place between March 22 and March 30 to determine the teams that will qualify for Africa’s biggest football tournament.
The tournament will take place in the Eastern Africa, as Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania will host the competition
The Black Stars drawn in a group alongside Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia and Somalia and will be aiming to secure a place at the 2027 AFCON when the qualifiers get underway in September.
