“We are capable of winning away” – Kapor backs Hearts of Oak ahead of Debibi United clash

Hearts of Oak head coach Nebojsa Kapor believes his players have the quality and winning mentality to secure maximum points when they travel to face Debibi United in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Phobians will take on the league newcomers in a Matchday 9 fixture, with Kapor eager to see his team maintain their impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign.

The Serbian tactician has challenged his players to approach the encounter with confidence and focus, stressing that they must believe in their ability to win away from home.

Kapor, a former Medeama SC coach, acknowledged that the fixture would present a difficult challenge but remains convinced that Hearts have the capacity to return to Accra with all three points.

“I have given the players the confidence to win this game because this is a team capable of winning away matches. That is the mindset we have adopted. We must remain positive, focused and serious in our approach as we aim to secure all three points, although we know it will not be an easy task,” he said.

Hearts have made an encouraging start to the season, winning five of their opening eight matches, drawing twice and suffering just one defeat.

Their impressive run has placed them second on the league table with 17 points, while Sunday’s opponents, Debibi United, occupy 16th position with seven points.

Kapor will now be hoping his side can translate their strong home form into another positive result on the road as they continue their push near the top of the standings.
