Panama striker Ismael Diaz says hunger and determination could be the key ingredients behind his country’s hopes of making history at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking from Panama’s training camp in Ontario, the forward highlighted the ambition running through the squad as they prepare to begin their campaign against Ghana.
“We are very hungry,” Diaz said.
The veteran attacker explained that every player in the squad is determined to prove Panama belongs among football’s elite nations.
Diaz believes the team’s growing confidence and willingness to embrace big occasions could help them challenge more established opponents in Group L.
Panama will open their tournament against Ghana, with a positive result expected to provide momentum for the remainder of their World Cup journey.
