“We Don’t Know What Will Happen” – Razak Simpson Opens Up on Nations FC Future After FA Cup Glory

Nations FC captain Razak Simpson has refused to rule out a possible departure from the club following their historic MTN FA Cup triumph, admitting he is uncertain about what the future holds.

The defender made the remarks after captaining Nations FC to a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Dreams FC in the 2025/26 FA Cup final at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Despite being under contract, Simpson revealed that no decision has been made regarding his next move as he focuses on celebrating the club’s biggest achievement.

“Right now I have a contract with Nations FC, so we don’t know what will happen. We have won the trophy and we are celebrating. I have to go home and enjoy more, then when next season comes, we will see,” he said.

The victory capped an unforgettable campaign for Nations FC, who lifted the FA Cup despite suffering relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

After a fiercely contested final ended 1-1 following extra time, Nations FC held their nerve to secure a 5-4 victory on penalties and clinch the trophy for the first time in the club’s history.

Simpson played a key role throughout the competition and was instrumental in guiding the Abrankese-based side to silverware despite the disappointment of relegation.

The FA Cup success also secured a place in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, ensuring Nations FC will compete on the continental stage despite dropping into the Division One League.

For now, however, Simpson says his focus remains on celebrating a historic achievement before turning attention to decisions about the future.
