Several outstanding performers were honoured with individual awards following the successful conclusion of the maiden edition of the Soyalana Community Gala in the Tolon Constituency.
After the final game on Sunday which saw Tolon A Community beat Nyankpala B Community to emerge winners of the tournament, Mahamudu Abdullah of Tolon A emerged as the tournament’s top scorer after netting an impressive 13 goals to clinch the Goal King award.

Yussif Zakiu Malitima of Nyankpala B was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament following his exceptional performances throughout the four-month competition.
In goal, Fuseini Alhassan Wumbeidoo of Tolon A was named Best Goalkeeper, while Hamid Osman of Woribogu picked up the Most Promising Player award for his outstanding displays.
Coach Osman Abdul-Rahim was also recognised as Coach of the Tournament after successfully guiding Tolon A to the championship title.

All the award winners, except the Most Promising Player and the Best Coach, received brand new motorbikes presented by the Member of Parliament for Tolon Constituency, Hon. Habib Iddrisu. Hamid Osman and Osman Abdul Rahim who won the Most Promising Player and Coach of the Tournament awards respectively, received an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Soyalana Community Gala, which featured 16 communities, has been widely praised for promoting grassroots football and discovering young talents within the constituency.
The competition is expected to grow bigger and attract even more attention in its next edition scheduled for next year.
