Seidu Saana closes in on Medeama SC move after standout season with Aduana Stars

Former Aduana Stars midfielder Seidu Saana has arrived in Tarkwa to complete his move to Medeama SC, with the highly-rated midfielder expected to sign a one-year contract with an option for a further year ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Saana travelled from Kumasi on Monday morning to finalise the deal after emerging as one of the most sought-after midfielders in the Ghana Premier League following an impressive campaign with Aduana Stars. His performances attracted interest from several clubs, including Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, but Medeama have moved quickly to secure his signature.

The move presents the midfielder with an opportunity to play continental football next season, with Medeama set to compete in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League after winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title. The Tarkwa-based side are strengthening their squad as they prepare to defend their domestic crown while making an impact in Africa.

Saana recently admitted he was disappointed Aduana Stars ended last season without lifting a trophy but maintained that his ambition has always been to perform at the highest level. His consistency, work rate and ability to control games from midfield made him one of the standout players in the league.

An official announcement is expected once the remaining formalities, including his medical examination and contract signing, are completed, with Saana set to join Medeama’s pre-season preparations ahead of a campaign that promises both domestic and continental challenges.
