Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Usman Safianu on a two-year contract following the expiration of his deal with Hohoe United.
The reigning champions secured the services of the highly-rated playmaker after beating off interest from several Ghana Premier League clubs, with Safianu opting to continue his career in Tarkwa ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The former Hohoe United captain arrives with a reputation as one of the league’s most technically gifted midfielders, renowned for his creativity, vision, composure in possession and ability to unlock opposition defences.
His arrival further strengthens head coach Ibrahim Tanko’s squad as Medeama prepare to defend their Ghana Premier League title and compete in the CAF Champions League after winning the league last season.
Medeama believes Safianu’s experience, leadership and attacking quality will add another dimension to the squad as the club targets domestic success and a strong showing on the continental stage.
