Bibiani Gold Stars Chief Executive Officer Akwasi Adu has confirmed the club is actively pursuing former Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Amoah is currently a free agent after parting ways with Al Ahly Benghazi, where his contract was terminated before the completion of his two-year deal. The 24-year-old returned to Asante Kotoko on loan during the second half of last season after struggling for regular playing time in Libya.
Speaking to Luv FM, Adu revealed that the Premier League champions have already assembled the core of their squad but remain keen on adding a few quality players before the transfer window closes.
“We have 27 players. At least 24 are confirmed. We are just looking around to add one or two players to some departments of the team. I’m looking for Albert Amoah to replace Attah Kumi,” he said.
The Gold Stars chief executive made it clear that securing Amoah’s signature remains a top priority as the club seeks a replacement for Samuel Atta Kumi, who recently joined Iraqi side Al-Kahrbaa Club after finishing as the Ghana Premier League’s top scorer.
“Yes, I’m chasing Kotoko’s Albert Amoah. I’m chasing him until he comes,” Adu added.
Adu also disclosed that the club has already secured a young central defender from Young Apostles and is now focused on signing an attacking midfielder as Gold Stars continue preparations to defend their Ghana Premier League title and compete in the CAF Champions League.
