Dreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon has described the upcoming 2026 Top Four tournament as a crucial part of his side’s preparations for the new Ghana Premier League season, insisting the competition will provide the ideal platform to assess his squad.
Speaking to Dreams FC Media, Dormon said the tournament presents an opportunity for his players to test themselves against some of the country’s strongest clubs before the league campaign begins.
The Still Believe lads will compete alongside Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC, Bibiani Gold Stars, and Hearts of Oak in this year’s Top Four tournament after missing out on the competition last season, when they instead participated in the Nsenkyire Cup in Samreboi.
According to Dormon, although lifting the trophy would be a welcome achievement, the club’s main objective is to use the tournament to build fitness, improve team chemistry and fine-tune tactics ahead of the new season.
The Dreams FC coach also believes the competition will offer several young players their first taste of elite domestic football, giving them valuable experience against top opposition and helping them adapt to the demands of the Ghana Premier League before the season gets underway.
