Hearts of Oak head coach Nebojša Kapor has praised his players for their resilience after the Phobians returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Port City FC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Frank Duku proved decisive in the Matchday Six encounter, scoring with a well-placed header to secure all three points for Hearts and bring an end to their three-match winless run.
Kapor expressed satisfaction with the result, particularly given the injury problems his squad faced in the build-up to the game. The Serbian tactician said his players responded positively to the challenge and delivered when it mattered most.
“I’m very happy because we faced a lot of injuries last week. We expected war before this game, and we responded well. They played well, and the most important thing is that we won three points,” Kapor said after the match.
The victory moves Hearts of Oak into second place in the league standings, three points behind defending champions and current leaders Medeama SC.
Kapor and his team will now turn their attention to next weekend’s fixture against Vision FC as they look to build on the Port City win and maintain their position among the league’s leading sides.
