Ghana’s Black Princesses have made a strong start to their preparations for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, recording an emphatic 4-0 victory over Polish side Sleza Wroclaw in their opening international friendly in Poland.
Ghana controlled the game from the early stages and deservedly took the lead in the 35th minute through Jacqueline Ntoso, who calmly converted her opportunity to give the Princesses a 1-0 advantage at the break.
The Black Princesses returned from the interval with greater intensity and quickly extended their lead. Priscilla Mensah found the back of the net after being set up by Ruth Amponsah, putting Ghana firmly in control of the contest.
Amponsah then got her name on the scoresheet in the 70th minute to make it 3-0 before Diana Amoako completed the scoring with an impressive long-range effort.
The convincing victory gives the Black Princesses valuable match practice as they continue their preparations in Poland, with the technical team using the friendly to assess the squad and fine-tune preparations ahead of the World Cup.
The result will also provide confidence to the young Ghanaian side as they continue their build-up, with further friendly matches expected to help the team sharpen their tactical organisation and build cohesion before the tournament begins.
