GFA Announces GH₵3 Million Prize for 2026/27 Ghana Premier League Champions

The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League champions will take home GH₵3 million in prize money, Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has announced.

Speaking at the GFA’s 32nd Ordinary Congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, Okraku revealed that all 18 Premier League clubs will also receive GH₵1 million each as part of the Association’s financial support package for the upcoming season.

“For the upcoming season, each Ghana Premier League club will receive GHC1m again, and the winner of the Ghana Premier League will take home GHC3m,” Okraku said.

The GFA president further disclosed that a total of GH₵9.5 million will be distributed to clubs as part of the financial package for the new campaign.

Beyond the cash prize, the league champions will also receive a JAC vehicle valued at $33,000, adding further value to the rewards for the club that finishes top of the table.

The announcement comes as clubs finalise their preparations for the new campaign, with reigning champions Medeama SC set to defend their title against 17 challengers.

The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, September 5, with the increased financial incentives expected to add further motivation as clubs battle for the championship and other league honours.
