Only the top four finishers from the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League will compete in this year’s GHALCA Top 4 Tournament, according to the association’s Administrative Manager, Nana Oduro Nyarko.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Oduro Nyarko confirmed that participation will be restricted to the league’s top four clubs, namely champions Medeama SC, Hearts of Oak, Bibiani Gold Stars and Dreams FC.
He explained that Nations FC, despite qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup, will not feature in the competition because they did not finish among the top four clubs in the Ghana Premier League standings.
“Participation will be limited to the clubs that finished first to fourth in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League. As a result, Nations FC, despite qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup, will not take part because they did not finish in the league’s top four,” Oduro Nyarko said on Akoma FM.
The GHALCA Top 4 Tournament serves as a key pre-season competition, giving the country’s leading clubs the opportunity to fine-tune preparations ahead of the 2026/27 campaign while providing supporters with high-profile fixtures before the league season begins.
