Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have completed the signing of defender Yaya Abdul-Raman on a three-year contract after the expiration of his deal with fellow top-flight side Karela United.
The 23-year-old centre-back joins the Mauve and Yellow after impressing with his consistent performances at Karela United, where he earned a reputation as one of the league’s dependable defenders. His arrival adds further depth to Medeama’s squad as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 season.
Speaking after sealing the move, Abdul-Raman expressed his excitement about joining the Tarkwa-based club and revealed his determination to contribute to the team’s ambitions.
“I am extremely happy to become a Medeama player. This is a massive club with a winning mentality, and I am excited to begin this new chapter of my career here in Tarkwa.”
The defender also made it clear that he is targeting success with the league champions, who will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League this season.
“The ambitions of the club match my own, and I am determined to work hard and contribute to the team’s success. Winning the Ghana Premier League with Medeama is one of my goals, and I look forward to giving everything for the badge and our supporters.”
Abdul-Raman becomes the latest addition to Ibrahim Tanko’s squad as Medeama continue to reinforce their team for the challenge of defending their Ghana Premier League crown while competing on the continental stage in the CAF Champions League.
