Senior Manager in charge of Communications at the Ghana Football Association, Tophic Abdul Kadir Sienu, has been appointed by the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B as the Media Officer for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U20 Championship, which will be held in Côte d’Ivoire from July 26 to August 10.
This appointment marks the fourth time WAFU Zone B has entrusted Tophic with the role, highlighting the regional football governing body’s confidence in his expertise and ability to manage media operations at major competitions.
Tophic previously served as Media Officer for the 2024 WAFU Zone B Girls U17 Championship in Ghana, the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Boys Championship in Ghana, and the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Girls Championship in Benin.
The upcoming tournament will serve as the qualifying competition for the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations, which Ghana will host next year.
Tophic’s appointment is yet another indication of Ghana’s growing influence in football administration and sports communication within the West African region.
